Environmental Testing Services
Microtest is acknowledged as an industry leader in specialized environmental testing services. Our experts can swiftly and accurately determine viable microbial and nonviable particulate levels of any area used for medical device and pharmaceutical cleanroom or manufacturing purposes. Our environmental experts also perform certifications for all controlled environments, including clean rooms, biological safety cabinets, laminar flow hoods, isolators and fume hoods.
Our environmental testing laboratories offer both onsite and remote services.
For onsite work, Microtest specialists perform microbial sampling of water, disinfectants, surfaces, air, and compressed air/gases right at the customer location. We also provide nonviable particulate sampling of air and compressed air/gases as well as sampling for an array of different contaminants and the levels of each; i..e., oils, carbon monoxide, H20.
For remote monitoring, Microtest supplies sampling plates and sterile water collecting vials — everything needed for customers to collect samples in their own clean rooms or manufacturing spaces. We also furnish full instructions for receipt, sampling, storage, and return to Microtest. Once samples are received at our laboratory, we perform full incubation, analysis, traceability/control record-keeping, and reporting procedures required by regulatory authorities.
Both testing regimens utilize SDA media, with or without neutralizers, for recovering environmental yeast and mold contaminants. TSA media is used to recover any aerobic or facultative anaerobic bacteria. RODAC plates help monitor surface and air contamination. Settling plates are utilized for remote viable air monitoring while PBI SAS microbial air samplers are used during onsite monitoring. Laser particle counters detect non-viable airborne particulates at sizes between 0.3 µm and 10.0 µm.
Experienced Microtest regulatory microbiologists perform all environmental testing services.
